Do your people watch "the news?" I've decided I don't like it. It seems to me that everyone is angry and I don't like angry. It makes me want to hide and that's not a great feeling!
Friends, it's time to tell our people about the Pet Life Philosophy. I know, the PLP has been a secret for a while now, but I think it would be good for our people to know.
Relax and enjoy life: don't always be thinking about what you need to do next - enjoy what you're doing and who you are with. How you spend your time is so important, you can never get that time back!
Love everyone: is there anyone in the world that doesn't want to feel loved? Remember, even the pets that seem angry really do want to be loved. Share what's in your heart!
Enjoy mealtime AKA "the good stuff" : Get excited, dance around, try to mind your manners and enjoy!
Play and work hard: run, chase, go on walks, pounce, play fetch. You have 4 good legs so enjoy what you have been blessed with; some aren't as lucky! (note: I do have a friend with only 3 legs and he loves life. A big shout-out to Finn!)
Don't stuff your feelings: Bark, growl, purr, wag your tail, lick and dance in a circle. I don't even know how to hide my feelings!!! Allow other pets the same courtesy. Just because we don't all feel the same things at the same time doesn't mean one of us is wrong.
Dig a little deeper: the good isn't always obvious but it is always worth looking for. Even if you get a little muddy :)
Make new friends: be nice to everyone you meet. You never know who needs a friend or what another pet is going through.
Keep your nose where it belongs: Poking around where you aren't supposed to be only gets you in trouble. Whenever possible be a peacemaker and respect others just as we want others to respect us.
Comfort those in need: sit with sad people, lay your head on their lap. Hugs and snuggles are essential. Remember, everyone is in need of kindness and compassion sometimes.
Forgive quickly: you will be much happier if you let the barks, growls and hisses of the unhappy slide way.
Don't hide who you are: none of us are completely alike. Mutt or purebred, be comfortable in your own fur and respect those that are different.
Enjoy the world around you: take a nap in the sun, smell new smells, taste new things. Explore.
Be loyal: nothing matters more than those you love!
You and I know that this philosophy comes easily to us pets, but I think our humans are busy and rushed and too worried about things that maybe don't matter quite so much. Let's encourage them to try this philosophy for a while and see what happens :)
Love and licks,
I'm Kona, a 2 year old Rottweiler. I love to run, play and give kisses....alot of licks means alot of kisses! Mom has worked at Stone House for almost 12 years and was just waiting for the perfect dog and I'M IT!! I also have a cat brother and 3 people siblings. I love them all (but the cat won't believe me!)
