My mommy saw something on facebook that tried to scare people about their pets and the solar eclipse. It said your pets have to be brought in so we don't go blind by looking at it. What?! Does this mean all the cows have to go into barns? What about all the wild animals? Take it from me - animals don't look at the sun and won't look at it during the solar eclipse either. Yes, we'll notice that it gets darker but we won't look at the sun to try and figure out why. If we looked at the sun it would hurt just like if you looked at the sun. You have special glasses to look at the sun so it doesn't hurt. Even if you put glasses on us we aren't going to look. I would actually prefer to eat those yummy looking glasses. Some people believe livestock and wild animals might actually think that it's night time though. Cows may walk towards the barn (like they would do at night), wild animals may do their night time activities. Maybe the owls will hoot? Did you know shadows will look differently too? This IS going to be fun!
Please enjoy the eclipse and don't worry about the pets, livestock and wild animals. We don't understand why you silly humans would want to look at the sun but if you do please be sure to wear those yummy looking solar glasses!
