Summer vacation! I was so excited. My cat brother and I got to take a car ride AND stay at Stone House for a whole week! Car rides are one of my favorite things and I knew I'd get to give lots of kisses to my people friends at Stone House.
My cat brother wasn't as excited. He doesn't like car rides and would prefer to stay home. And as it turns out, he wasn't feeling very good anyway. Mom hadn't noticed he wasn't feeling good (because pets are super good at hiding pain) so she didn't tell the doctors to examine him. But the next day the awesome staff in the kennel room could tell something wasn't right and they told the doctors. The doctors found out that he couldn't urinate! After taking some x-rays they found stones in his bladder and one was keeping him from going to the bathroom. He was in trouble: his kidneys were starting to not work quite right! He had surgery and they found that his bladder actually had a little hole in it and was sick.
Thankfully he is doing much better now! The pain medication makes him feel better while his body heals and his kidneys are working great again. Whew! It was an eventful vacation but my whole family is so glad the staff at Stone House noticed he wasn't feeling well before he got worse. AND so thankful for the doctors and staff that made him feel better! My people siblings would have been beyond sad if he wasn't here when they got home.
I hope you had a great summer vacation this year and it didn't include surgeries!!
Love and Licks,
I'm Kona, a 2 year old Rottweiler. I love to run, play and give kisses....alot of licks means alot of kisses! Mom has worked at Stone House for almost 12 years and was just waiting for the perfect dog and I'M IT!! I also have a cat brother and 3 people siblings. I love them all (but the cat won't believe me!)
